Beekeeping 101 for beginners.

This class will give you a complete understanding and introduction to beekeeping. Hands on with equipment so you can get used to the nomenclature and the actual items used without the bees.

All the basics here. Hive tools and protective gear will be covered so you know what to buy.

Your questions will be answered so you will feel comfortable getting started with your new backyard apiary.

Using your smoker for the first time.

Learn the installation techniques for the start of your new hives. 

NUCs and Package bees.

Both will be covered.

You have made your purchase and now you have live bees to deal with--ohhh boy this is where it gets real.

Releasing the Queen and your first inspections are very important now.

Apiary 103

By now you should have a slight idea of what you are doing haha or at least you think so-if you are still slightly confused about things-BRING YOUR QUESTIONS because we want to help you.

Its OKAY to ask questions. There will be no shame here because we want you to succeed.

Hive inspections, knowing/spotting the different types of queen cells, brood vs drone brood, eggs, larva, and pupae, treating for mites, hive beetles, disease, ants, robbing, swarming, orientation flights.

Feeding sugar syrup, feeding fondant, types of feeders, honey bound comb.
